Inter Base League is an independently run football league in Kibera, Nairobi, founded to help young people access structure, support, purpose, and opportunity.
Background
A local initiative with a growing impact
Founded in 2019, Inter Base League was created to combat substance abuse, criminality, and teenage pregnancies through football. It has grown into a respected community initiative engaging youth across multiple divisions.
The league has expanded to include a women’s division, which plays an essential role in giving girls greater access to sport, teamwork, mentorship, and confidence.
Beyond football, the league supports community development through cleanups, educational support, and partnerships that strengthen long-term opportunity.
